Deleting ChatGPT and Claude Apps from my Phone

Today I deleted the ChatGPT and Claude apps from my Phone.

I was using them way too much.

I think it became borderline line addiction.

Honestly, it only occured to me recently this has the same pattern of social media addiction.

It knows everything about me.

They always respond in a way I feel good.

Even though Claude is less Sychopantic compared to ChatGPT, it still doesnt talk to me remotely like a normal human would.

Both of them are equally capable of affirming whatever echo chamber idea I ask them about.

My ego also loved using them so I used to justify the usage as learning new things. Becoming better.

But honestly I loved it because of the dopammine.

They generate content so personalized to you. They have access to content nobody else will ever have.

Every interaction with it generates content that I have never seen anywhere else.

But at the end of the day it’s still content.

Expensive GPU content. But content regardless to keeo me in the loop.

So I have decided to not use these Apps in my phone.

I am not saying there is no value in chatgpt or claude.

They did teach me a lot of things. Made me try new things.

They are genuinely useful for getting things done when it comes to work.

Codex and Opus is amazing for coding.

They are great for comparing shoes, insurance policies etc.

But I can kind of do most of these things in a laptop anyway.

That said I still have thge Gemini app on my Android phone.

I haven’t developed an addiction problem with it. Probably because it doesn’t store so much context about me and make the responses super personal.

But I will revisit this in a month and remove Gemini if I develop an addiction problem with it.
